Hello K1 families,
As a reminder this week we will be doing some fun pumpkin activities in honor of Halloween. Please don't forget to send in a small pumpkin for your child to decorate by this Wednesday, October 28th. If you signed up to bring in any additional supplies for our activities please bring them by Wednesday as well. Thank you!
Here is what we will be working on in our class this week:
Reading - Our theme this week is communication and the students will hear the stories Amelia's Show and Tell Fiesta and Mice Squeak, We Speak. Our high frequency word is "we" and our sound is /t/. We will continue to practice with blending the onset and rime of words and begin to practice segmenting words into their onset and rime. We also will keep practicing with sensory words and labeling.
Math - This week we will finish up our chapter on counting and numbers 0 to 10. Our lessons will be on identifying fewer than and finding how many in all. At the end of the week the students will be assessed on this chapter.
Handwriting - We will practice proper formation of uppercase and lowercase T.
Religion - In preparation for All Saints Day, we will continue our study of Saints.
Science - We will learn about sounds as well as do a pumpkin investigation this week.
Thank you and have a great week!
