I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend!
As a reminder tomorrow the signup genius for All Saints Day will go out. Make sure to sign your child up for a saint to do a report on and dress up as for our Litany of the Saints on November 2nd.
Report cards also go out this Thursday. For our new families if you are unfamiliar with our grading system you child will have a received either an M (mastering), D (developing), or E (emerging). If you have any questions regarding your child's grades we will have time to discuss at our upcoming conferences in the first week of November.
Lastly, boxtops are due on October 26th. If you have any boxtops around the house please make sure to send them in during the next couple of weeks. The kids would love to win a party for collecting the most!
Here is what we will be working on in K1 this week:
Reading - Our theme this week is ways to move. The students will hear the stories Jonathan and His Mommy and Move! Our sound is /c/ and the sight word we will be practicing is "a." Lastly we will practice with adjectives for colors.
Math - This week's lesson is about size and position. We will review big and small, find if something fits, learn position words, and talk about before and after. The students will be assessed on this chapter at the end of the week.
Religion - We will continue on with our Theology of the Body lessons by moving on from Creation to Original Sin and Original Solitude.
Science/Social Studies - This Friday we will have a special visit from some local firefighters! October is fire safety month so they will speak with the students about fire safety as well as give them a chance to checkout their fire truck!
Have a great week!
