I hope everyone had a great time at the Harvest Festival on Friday. I know I had a blast and it was really great to see you all there!
We have another busy week ahead of us in K1! Tuesday we will be having some fun with pumpkins for Halloween. Wednesday is our Litany of the Saints at 8:15 am in the courtyard. Please remember to have your child come to school dressed in their costume with their uniform underneath. They will need to be prepared to give their oral report on their saint that same day as well. I hope that you are all able to join us!
Looking ahead to Veteran's Day, please we would love to have you join us for our ceremony on Friday November 10th at 8:30 am in the courtyard. If you know any past or present service members please feel free to invite them as we would love to honor them during this ceremony. We invite our guests to arrive early and have light refreshments in the St. John library between 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. We will then direct them to file out in a group into our courtyard for a special ceremony and recognition. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org with the names of your guests, and an email or mailing address if you would like them to receive a personal invitation from the school. Please use the attached invitation to invite any guests.
This is what else we will be working on in our classroom this week:
Reading: This week's lesson is all about machines and wheels. We will hear the stories Good Morning Digger and What Do Wheels Do? Our sight word this week is "to" and our sound is /p/. The Alphafriend to help us remember this sound by is Pippa Pig. We also will be working on numbers as adjectives.
Math: We will be working on some math centers this week to keep working on numbers 0-20. Please keep practicing identifying and writing these numbers. The teen numbers especially are difficult to master so extra practice at home is great! We will assess on Friday.
Religon: We will finish up our study of the saints this week. On Wednesday we will begin oral reports for the saints. Keep practicing with your child so they are prepared to teach the rest of the class!
Lastly as a reminder, if you have not signed up for a conference yet please do so as soon as possible. I look forward to meeting with all of you to discuss your child's progress.
Thank you and have a great week!
Miss Lauren Cordier
