I hope you had a nice weekend! This week will be Parent/Teacher conferences. Don't forget that there are half days all week. Kindergarten dismissal is at 11:50. If you need it, there is still after care until 6.
On Friday, November 11th, our school will be having a Veteran's Day Ceremony in the courtyard at 8:15. Please join us to thank our Veteran's for their service to our country.
On Wednesday, November 23rd, our school invites Grandparents and Great Friends to join us for mass and activities in the classroom. If your child will have guests coming on this special day please RSVP using this link so we know how many people to plan for: https://docs.google.com/a/popejohnxxiii.org/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeaJbCMNX8xW2MxnSlkGbQmPMODuUqWzM3Fysr68GVNw3x7Fw/viewform
Reading: We will be reading about shapes this week. Our stories are "David's Drawings" and "Mouse Shapes." We will review all the sight words we have learned in this unit: we, to, a, see. We will review the sounds for a, t, p, and c as well.
Math: This week we will finish up our lesson on shapes and patterns. The students will be assessed on this chapter on Wednesday.
Religion: The lesson for the week is on forgiveness. We will hear a few scripture stories that demonstrate forgiveness and the students will have the opportunity to create a scene and retell one of the stories on their own.
Social Studies: With Election day on Tuesday, we will be having a mock election where the students will cast their own votes for President. We will hear two stories, "Duck for President" and "Clifford for President" and then we will fill out ballots to see who K1 would rather have as President. We also will be talking about Veteran's Day and attend the school ceremony on Friday.
I am looking forward to meeting with you all this week! Thanks!
Miss Lauren Cordier
