Happy Monday everyone!
It was such a pleasure to speak with each of you again last week. I appreciate your willingness to meet with me so we can work together to best support your child.
This week is a busy week as it is our last full week before Thanksgiving!! If you plan to be out of town next week at all and have not already let me know please send me an email when you get a chance.
Reading: We wrapped up our second unit last week and the students will be assessed on those skills on Thursday of this week. Please be sure to review sounds for a, t, c, and p as well as the sight words we, see, a, and to. Our lesson this week is all about weather and seasons. We will hear the stories Every Season and Jump Into January. We are now starting to learn two new words per week. Our words are "come" and "me." This week we take another big step in our reading as we move to medial sounds. We are practicing /a/ as a medial sound.
Math: We are starting to learn numbers to 100. This week we will discuss skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s. This is a great skill to practice in the car on the way to and from school :)
Religion: This week is all about prayer. We will talk about what prayer is, prayers we can say, and where and when we pray. We will be visiting the adoration chapel again this week and talk again about the prayers we can say there.
Science/S.S.: Through our books on weather and seasons we will learn about seasonal weather patterns. We will also discuss how weather can affect our daily activities. We will read about national holidays we celebrate throughout the year and why we celebrate them.
Please do not forget to sign up for Grandparents and Great Friends Day. The school is in need of volunteers and needs all guests to RSVP as well.
Thank you and have a great week!
