Thank you to all of you who were able to join us for our Veterans Day Ceremony! What a great day it was to honor those who have served our country!
Second quarter progress reports go out this Wednesday. Please keep an eye out for when they are ready to view and let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
A note about our upcoming grandparents/great friends day:
Grandparents/Great Friends Day will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd. We look forward to sharing our St. John community with loved ones as we celebrate Mass and the spirit of thanksgiving. We are sensitive to the fact that some of our students have lost their grandparents, or their grandparents will be unable to attend this event. If there is another special adult in your child's life, please feel free to invite this person to attend.
Please RSVP for your guests by Friday, November 17th online HERE, so we can accommodate all who wish to attend.
Help Wanted 11/22: We are in need of a few more parents to help check in our guests the morning of Grandparents Day. You can sign up to help here
I can be contacted at email@example.com for any questions.
Grandparents/Great Friends Day
This is what we will be working on this week in our classroom:
Reading: Our Unit 2 Assessment will be on Monday. We will spend the rest of the week on our new lesson that is all about seasons. We will hear the stories Every Season and Jump into January. Our new sight words are come and me and the sound we will be practicing is /a/. We will be looking at /a/ as a medial sound and begin to practice blending sounds to read words.
Religion: We will wrap up our chapter on forgiveness this week. Assessment questions will go out on Monday and the oral assessment on this lesson will be on Wednesday. The next lesson is all about baptism. We will hear the story or when Jesus was baptized and learn about what we see during a baptism. Please send in a labeled photo of your child at their baptism to share with the class by this Friday.
Math: We will be reviewing solid and flat shapes as well as shape patterns at the beginning of this week. The students will be assessed on this on Wednesday. We will start our next chapter of numbers to 100. The students will be introduced to skip counting by 2s and by 5s. We will also will learn about using tallies to out.
Thank you and enjoy your week!
