We have a busy next couple of weeks as we wrap up the quarter and prepare for Christmas to begin. This week is our scholastic book fair and the 8th grade toy drive. Please reference my email for more specific details regarding these events. This Friday will be our annual school Christmas concert. The concert begins at 6:00 but please have your children to K1 by 5:30 dressed in their Christmas best! Please let me and Mr. Ramos know if you will not be attending.
This is what we will be working on in class this week:
Reading: This lesson is about animal homes. We will discuss the word habitat and learn about why certain animals live in particular habitats. Our stories are Home for a Tiger, Home for a Bear and Turtle Splash. Our new sight words will be "are" and "now." We are learning the /b/ sound with Alphafriend Benny Bear.
Math: We will be talking about ordinal numbers in math this week. We also will talk about graphs as we look at favorites and determine what was the first, second, and third choices.
Religion: The students will hear the story of Joseph and the dream he had about Mary becoming the Mother of God. We will discuss more about the Holy Family and begin to talk about the Nativity story.
Have a great week,
Miss Lauren Cordier
