Some reminders for this week: On Tuesday we will be having our religion assessment over Jesus as God the Son. Please make sure you have reviewed the assessment questions with your child. Wednesday scholastic orders are due please get them in if you would like books! Animal reports went home on Friday so please be sure to be working on them this week! They are due Wednesday, January 18th.

Here is what we will be doing this week!
Reading: We are learning about things we see in the sky. The students will hear the stories How Many Stars in the Sky? and What a Beautiful Sky! We are reviewing our sounds and our high frequency words that we have learned over the past month. You received a word list today with a letter explaining weekly high frequency word quizzes. Please be sure that you a going over the words with your child so that they do not fall behind as the expectations increase.
Math: This week's chapter is all about calendar patterns. We will discuss the days of the week and the months of the year. The assessement on this chapter will be on Friday.
Religion: Our new lesson is all about the miracles of Jesus. We will hear the stories of some of Jesus' most popular miracles and discuss the difference between magic tricks and miracles.
Social Studies: With Martin Luther King Jr. Day coming up next week we will hear some stories about his life and legacy. Our writing assignment is all about what dreams we have and we will do a special craft to go with it in memory of MLK Jr.
