This week in K1:
Reading: The students will hear the stories It Is The Wind and From Caterpillar to Butterfly. We will be learning about life cycles through these stories. We have six new sight words to work on: find, this, from, came, but, on. The sound for the week is /g/. We will also learn about proper nouns. Don't forget to practice the word list that will come home tomorrow. I will test the students on Thursday!
Math: We will continue to practice with the concepts of counting on, counting back, and finding how many more. At the end of the week the students will be assessed on this chapter.
Religion: We are spending one more week learning all about the Apostles. They will hear scripture stories and create their egg carton project to help remember the names of the 12 Apostles. This Friday we will also have a World Rosary prior to courtyard prayer. Our grade can wear yellow t-shirts on that day to represent a specific region for this special event. If you would like to participate, your child can wear a solid yellow t-shirt on Friday (it must have no writing).
Catholic schools week is coming up soon. Please be sure to print off a copy of all the events going on that week so you don't miss out on any of the fun!
Have a great week!
