Hello K1 families,
What a great first week we had in kindergarten!! I had so much fun getting to know your kids and look forward to a fantastic year ahead. Every week I will post a newsletter that outlines what we will be working on in our classroom as well as upcoming events at the school. These will be the concepts that you can reinforce at home as well.
This week in K1:
Reading - We will spend the next couple of weeks reviewing concepts. We will review naming letters A-E and begin practicing writing the letters in both uppercase and lowercase. We will hear some nursery rhymes, recognize words that rhyme, and identify opposites. Please begin working with your child on writing their name with upper and lowercase letters.
Math - We will work on numbers 1-5 this week for math. The students will practice writing the numbers as well as review counting objects to 5.
Religion - Our first lesson in religion is all about the Trinity. We will use our own families, shamrocks, and trees to understand the Trinity. We will practice making the Sign of the Cross and we will begin to learn the Glory Be prayer.
Have a great week,
Miss Lauren Cordier
