Happy Catholics Schools week everyone! We have something special planned each day for the students to celebrate how blessed we are to be at a Catholic school! Keep an eye out for email reminders each day so that you don't miss out on all the fun. Here is a quick run down of activities for the week:
Monday: Free dress day for students who wore their uniform to mass
Tuesday: Crazy sock day
Wednesday: Red, white, and blue accessory day
Thursday Crazy tie day and volunteer breakfast (parents please join us!)
Friday: Field day - wear your tie-dye shirt!
This is what we will be learning about this week as well:
Reading: Our lesson is about nature and we will be reading the stories It is the Wind and From Caterpillar to Butterfly. Our sound this week is /g/ and our new sight words are find, from, on, but, this, came. The students will also be introduced to proper nouns.
Math: The students will be assessed on the past three chapters this Monday. After that we will dive in a little more to concepts of addition. This week's focus will be on making ten. We will explore various strategies to help the students count on to make ten.
Religion: This week's lesson is about the Apostles. We will hear the story of Jesus calling the disciples to follow Him and how He also calls each of us to follow Him and make fishers of men. We will learn about each of the 12 Apostles and be making a craft to help us remember the names of the 12. For this project each student will need one egg carton - please send one in by next Monday at the latest for your child. Thank you in advance.
Lastly, our school Father/Daughter Dance is coming up. Please see the following message for more information and to get registered for this fun event:
