Hello K1 families!
I hope you all had a great three day weekend! We are back at it tomorrow and have a full week of learning ahead!
Here is what we will be working on this week in our classroom:
Reading - This week is a review week and the theme is making discoveries. We won't be learning any new words or sounds this week but just reviewing everything from this past unit. Please make sure to be practicing all of our high frequency words with your kiddo as we will be assessing them on our words this week. The stories that the students will hear are Duck and Goose and Curious George's Dinosaur Discovery. Our unit 4 assessment will be given next Monday. We will still have a spelling test this week and the words will be: how, now, cow, soon, food, boom.
Religion: Our chapter this week is titled Jesus as our example. We will learn about each of the Corporal Works of Mercy and think about ways that we can follow Jesus' example to help those in need.
Math: We are beginning our chapter on number facts this week. In this chapter we will be learning number facts to 10, combining sets, composing and decomposing numbers to 20, and counting on using a number line to find the difference between two numbers. We will spend the next two weeks really practicing these chapters to because fluent with our number facts to ten.
Have a great week!
