Can you believe it is already March?! The year will be over before we know it!! Don't forget this Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. Our school mass will be at 10 am instead of 8:30 this week.
Here's a look at what we are doing in K1 this week:
Reading: This week's stories are all about animals growing up. We will hear the books A Tiger Grows Up and Leo the Late Bloomer. We will be learning two new sounds this week; /x/ and /j/. Our new words are ate, could, was, good, said, then. This Thursday is also Dr. Seuss' birthday! Friday will be dedicated to Dr. Seuss!! Keep and eye out for a sign-up genius to come in and read your favorite Dr. Seuss book to our class!
Math: Our assessment on measurement will be on Monday this week. Then we will begin and finish a quick chapter reviewing sets and attributes of shapes. Our assessment on this chapter will be on Thursday.
Religion: As we enter the Lenten season, we will be learning what Lent is and how to prepare our hearts. We will be making prayer pots that we will work on throughout the weeks leading up to Easter. Please use these prayer pots to continue the discussion of what Lent is and means at home.
Have a great week!
