Hello K1 families,
This week we will be celebrating Dr. Seuss and Love of Reading Week. Please feel free to sign up for a time slot to come in and read your favorite Dr. Seuss book to our class: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/20F044BADA92DAAF85-love
Here is what we will be working on in our classroom this week:
Reading - We will be taking our Unit 4 assessment on Monday and then begin our next lesson that is about working together. The students will hear the story Simon and Molly Plus Hester. Our new words are make, give, them, play, say, new. The sound we will be working on is /o/. We also will be practicing with long and short vowel sounds.
Math - We will continue working through chapter 14 to practice number facts. This week we will focus on composing and decomposing numbers to 20 and counting on.
Religion: This week we will begin the second half of our Theology of the Body unit. We will be using the story An Egg is Quiet to further learn about creation and how we were each created in the image of God.
Science: February is dental hygiene month so this Tuesday we will have a special presentation about dental hygiene.
Have a great week,
Miss Lauren Cordier
