Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed the four day weekend and had a chance to relax or get out of town for a bit!
Here is what is happening this week in K1:
Reading: We are revisiting animals this week and will hear the stories Red Eyes, Blue Feathers and Chameleon, Chameleon. The new sight words are he, away, must, no, by, there. We will be working on two sounds this week: /h/ and /k/. Our sight word quiz and our spelling test will be on Friday this week so that the kids don't lose a day to study. They did a great job on the first spelling test!
Math: We will continue to practice with addition and creating number sentences. Last week we only worked with numbers to five so this week we will move on to numbers to ten. The assessment will be on Thursday.
Religion: This week the students will learn about stations 5 to 7. We also will have a chance to go through the stations of the cross with Deacon Al on Friday!
Science: Since our stories last week were all about life cycles and we learned about planting, this week the students will plant their own seeds. We will observe and watch them grow and keep a journal of the changes we see.
Don't forget that if you have not done so already, you can order your child's plate that they worked so hard on to support the school and the upcoming auction.
Have a wonderful week,
Miss Lauren Cordier
