I hope you all had a great weekend and a blast at the school auction if you were able to attend! Thank you for supporting our school!
If your child would like to enter the poetry contest make sure they are working on their poems! They are due on April 7th! See the entry form and instructions in my email regarding the contest.
Please make sure to fill out the REAL survey that I emailed out as well. We would love to see 100% parent participation in the survey. Thank you!
Here is what we will be doing this week in K1:
Reading: Our unit 5 test will be on Monday. Then we will begin our 6th and final unit for the year!! This week's lesson is all about values and trying your best. We will be learning the /u/ sound and the words do, went, just, down, little, only. The stories for the week are Curious George Makes Pancakes and Kittens First Full Moon.
Math: We are moving on to subtraction! The students will learn the word and symbol minus and begin to work on building and solving subtraction number sentences.
Religion: We will finish up our Stations of the Cross booklet this week by learning about stations 12-14. We also will start using Resurrection Eggs to learn more specifically what Easter is all about.
Science: Last week we planted radish seeds. This week the students will observe and journal about what changes they see in their plants. On Friday they will take them home!
Spelling Test: This week's test will challenge them a little more. We are moving on to four letter words and they will have a sentence to write. Make sure to practice starting the sentence with a capital letter and ending it with a period!
Bonus Word: away
Sentence: The frog can jump.
Have a great week!
