Hello all! I hope you had a great weekend! It is hard to believe that it is already April and we have just two months of the school year left!!
On April 26th, our school will be hosting a community event. This event is free and all of you are encouraged to attend! If you plan on going please register at this link:
Here is what we will be working on this week in our classroom:
Reading - This week is a review week as we wrap up unit 5 in reading. Our theme is growing food and the students will hear the stories Bread Comes to Life and Pie in the Sky. We will not be learning any new words or sounds, just reviewing what we have done so far. Our spelling words this week will practice the short vowel sounds for a, e, i, and o. We also will be working on the consonant blend -st. In this consonant blend you can hear the two individual sounds of both s and t but they are said quickly and sound blended together. Make sure to review high frequency words with your child this week as they will be assessed on all the words from this unit.
Math - We will wrap up our chapter on subtraction stories and spend the week practicing addition and subtraction fluency with some centers.
Religion - The students will wrap up learning about the Stations of the Cross this week. We also will begin working on reenacting the stations of the cross for a special kindergarten class project. This week we will also begin learning a little more about the story of Jesus and His passion through ressurrection eggs.
Thank you and have a great week!
