Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful break and a very blessed Easter! We are in the final stretch to the end of the year and have many school and classroom events coming up. Please make sure that you are up to date on safe environment training so you don't miss out on any of these fun activities!
A couple of events this week:
1) Friday will be our kindergarten retreat. The students will engage in various center activities all relating to the theme God Gave Me a Job. We are looking forward to this special day growing in our faith with you all as our leaders :)
2) Saturday is our school community event, Back to the 80's. The event will be from 7-10 pm in our school gym. Please make sure to register ahead of time on the school website if you plan on attending.
Here is what we will be working on in our classroom this week:
Reading - Our theme this week is family outings and the students will hear the stories Someone Bigger and One of Three. The words this week are ask, walk, every, help, one, and have. The letter sounds we will be practicing are /l/ and /w/.
Math - We will be learning about measurement in terms of weight, capacity, and time. We will use balance scales to compare weights.
Religion - The students will learn about Jesus' resurrection and how after death there is life. They also will hear two other stories from the Bible where Jesus raised someone from the dead.
Science - We will be learning about Earth day and what we can do that hurts the Earth and what we can do to help it.
Have a great week,
Miss Lauren Cordier
