Hello K1 families!
Can you believe that this week it is already May?! The year has flown by so fast and I am looking forward to spending these last days with your kiddos before summer break.
This week is a busy one! Kindergarten is in charge of courtyard prayer and mass, we have May Crowning, and the Spring Concert/Art Walk!!
Some information for Wednesday May 1st :
Here is what we will be working on in our classroom this week:
Reading - We will finish up our chapter on family outings on Monday and then begin a new chapter about getting help this week as well. The students will hear the stories The Little Engine that Could and You Can Do It, Curious George! The sounds we will be working on are /v/ and /z/ and our new words are look, out, very, their, saw, and put. As a reminder we will have our spelling test on the words sent home last week (went, sent, walk, talk, ask, mask; They went on a walk.)
Math - This week we will begin our money chapter in math. The students will learn the names of the coins as well as their value. We also will practice with adding the values of coins in order to purchase something.
Religion - The students will learn about Divine Mercy Sunday and we also will spend some time celebrating Mary in honor of May crowning.
Thank you and have a great week!
Miss Lauren Cordier
