Hello K1 families!
A couple of important events going on at school this week:
Monday is picture day. Please return your child's form with them to school tomorrow!
Wednesday is Curriculum Night from 6-7 pm. There will be two twenty-five minute sessions, 6-6:25 and 6:30-6:55. You only need to attend one session. I will talk in more detail about our kindergarten curriculum and what your kiddo will be learning this year. Please find arrangements for your child to stay home from this event. Thank you!
Here's what we will working on in our classroom this week:
Reading - We will continue to review letters in the alphabet, this week looking at F-J. The students will hear more nursery rhymes and engage in literacy centers throughout the week. We have been working on writing our names using lines correctly.
Math - This week we begin chapter one in our math series which is a review on numbers 1-5. We will learn some rhymes to help us remember how to correctly write each number. The students will also participate in math centers to practice counting and one to one correspondence.
Religion - Now that we have learned who the three persons in the Blessed Trinity are, we will talk specifically about God the Father, our creator. The students will hear the story of Adam and Eve and we will discuss how God made each of us and our families too.
Social Studies - We will complete our unit on rules and laws this week. We will talk more specifically about who makes rules and laws and briefly touch on what the Constitution is. We will create our own "Class Constitution" with our classroom rules for the students to sign and agree to follow.
Have a fantastic week!
