Lots of learning will be happening in K1 this week! Here is what we will be doing:
Reading: We will be learning all about school in our new lesson. The students will hear two different stories: Friends at School and How Do Dinosaurs Go to School? We will learn a new high frequency word "like." The students will practice all week with identifying the sounds they hear at the beginning of words. Nouns will be introduced as words that name places as well. We will also learn what an antonym is and come up with opposites. The letters we will be reviewing and learning to write this week are: P, Q, R, S, and T.
Math: On Monday, the students will take an assessment over both chapters one and two. Then we will jump into chapter three that is all about size. This is a short chapter so we will have our chapter three assessment on Friday.
Religion: This weeks lesson is on the Ten Commandments. The students will hear the story of how Moses received the commandments and we will discuss how we can follow those commandments in our own lives. We will end the lesson with an art project using our hands and fingers to help us remember what each commandment is.
This week we will also be starting centers and reading groups! I am very excited to dive into reading with your kids!!
Have a great week!
